Cessation Services
The Dorchester County Health Department, on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland, offers cessation classes to locals. These classes are held every Wednesday at the Dorchester County Health Department from 10:00am to 11:00am, 1:00pm to 2:00pm, and 5:00pm to 6:00pm. These classes consist of six sessions over six weeks, covering various topics important to tobacco cessation, including the physical nature of nicotine addiction, other methods to cope with stress, and addressing weight gain. After attending two sessions, visiting a doctor, and meeting with the staff nurse, individuals are eligible to receive free nicotine patches.

Dorchester County Health Department offers contracts to community groups and schools for tobacco prevention and cessation efforts.
