Maryland Senate & House finalize smoking ban, awaiting O'Malley -- April 9, 2007. 
The Maryland Assembly has come to an agreement on the details of a statewide smoking ban.  In the revised bill, the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will develop criteria for businesses to attain a waiver of the ban until 2011 by proving that the ban is a financial hardship.  Governor O'Malley has pledged to sign the bill, which would take effect February 2008.   Click here for full story.
