Mothers' Substance Use Decreases During Pregnancy, Dads' Doesn't -4/4/2008
A recent study has shown that a surprisingly large number of women and
men drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, and use marijuana during their or
their partner's pregnancy. While the women showed a decrease in the
amount of substance use during the pregnancy, the men tended to maintain

Males Who Smoke Shorter, Girls Lose Less Weight - 4/4/08
Canadian researchers found that male smokers tended to be shorter
than male non-smokers, while female smokers were no more

In an extensive study of households in 31 different countries, it was
found that 82% of parents who smoke said that they smoke around their

Shorter Life Expectancy for Less Educated Smokers - 04/04/08
Researchers at Harvard Medical School and Harvard University found that
people with more than 12 years of education had a much longer life
expectancy than those who did not receive more education after high
school. The gap was found to be largely due to smoking related illnesses. Read more here.
