We would like to thank all of the presenters and attendees who braved the weather and made our conference a great event! A special thanks to Joan Stine, Director of the Center for Health Promotion, Education, & Tobacco Use Prevention and Dawn Berkowitz, Chief, Division of Federal and Special Tobacco Control Initiatives for their updates on DHMH and upcoming issues and policies. Additionally, we would also like to thank Rita Turner, JD, Deputy Director of the Legal Resource Center, UM,B School of Law for her updates on upcoming legislation and finally, Sherry McCammon, from the American Cancer Society, for information on the tobacco tax. An award of recognition was given to Joan Stine in celebration of her retirement and as a thank you for all of her tireless efforts to improve the health of her fellow Marylanders, for which we all owe her a debt of gratitude.
